Job Summary
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely processing of payroll for all UECC employees across head office, project sites, and daily-wage labor, covering both operations where applicable. The role directly protects the company from labor law exposure, payroll disputes, and site-level attendance/payment errors that can disrupt workforce stability on active projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Supervise and validate the monthly payroll cycle for white-collar staff, site staff, and daily-wage workers across all project sites.
? Consolidate attendance, leave, and overtime data from the Mobile Application and site timesheets prior to payroll processing.
? Reconcile payroll inputs against approved manpower plans and headcount budgets in coordination with OD & LD.
? Ensure accurate calculation and timely remittance of social insurance contributions, income tax, and other statutory deductions.
? Process new hires, terminations, transfers, and salary changes in the payroll system in line with signed contracts and HR approvals.
? Validate site-transfer and secondment payroll adjustments (e.g., site allowances, assignment differentials) with HR & Legal.
? Prepare payroll cost reports by project/site for Finance and Cost Control to support project cost tracking.
? Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll queries within agreed turnaround times.
? Maintain payroll records, bank transfer files, and statutory filings in compliance with Egyptian Labor Law and, where applicable, regulations.
? Coordinate with Site Admin and Site HR (dotted-line) to close out attendance discrepancies before payroll cut-off.
? Support internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll documentation and reconciliations.
? Supervise and review the work of Payroll Specialists and Data Entry staff, ensuring accuracy before submission for approval.
? Identify recurring payroll error patterns and recommend process or system improvements to reduce rework.
Qualifications & Skills
? Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
? Certification: preferred: Professional payroll or HR certification (e.g., CIPD, Payroll Diploma).
? Years of Experience: 6+ years of experience in payroll processing, at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within a multi-site construction or labor-intensive environment.
? Software: Payroll/HRIS systems, advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), familiarity with social insurance and tax filing portals.
? Skills: High attention to detail and accuracy, confidentiality and data integrity, analytical thinking, time management under strict cut-off deadlines, cross-functional coordination with Finance and Site Admin.
